All-Star Slugger Sets Pirates Record With Historic Power Outburst

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Ryan O'HearnTuesday was a chaotic day for the Pittsburgh Pirates. After losing star rookie Konnor Griffin to the injured list earlier in the day, the Pirates responded by obliterating the Atlanta Braves 12-4 at PNC Park in the evening.

>Pittsburgh gave Paul Skenes plenty of run support, although most of it came from one slugger in particular.

>Ryan O'Hearn erupted for three home runs and 10 RBI, etching his name in the MLB record books with the best game of his career.

>O'Hearn hit the ground running with a grand slam in his first at-bat in the first inning. He followed it up with a three-run shot in the third, giving him seven RBI off Braves starter Hurston Waldrep.

— MLB (@MLB) July 8, 2026O'Hearn wasn't done, either. After grounding out in his next plate appearance, he smashed another three-run homer in the sixth off reliever Connor Thomas for his third long ball of the night.

>The 32-year-old slugger singled in his final at-bat for good measure, finishing 4-for-5 with three dingers and 10 RBI.

>O'Hearn became just the 17th player in MLB history with 10 RBI in a single game since RBI became an official statistic in 1920, including the first Pirates player to do so.
