Barcelona yet to show definitive interest in exit-bound Portuguese star – Romano
class="wp-block-paragraph">Rafael Leao became the biggest story in the transfer market yesterday after the Portuguese sensation confirmed he will be leaving AC Milan at the end of the season.
>
class="wp-block-paragraph">Leao has a contract at Milan until 2028 but it appears he will be available in the market this summer, at a time when big clubs like Barcelona are looking for a new striker.
>
class="wp-block-paragraph">Leao has been linked with a move to Barcelona in the past as well, owing to the good relationship between Joan Laporta and his agent, Jorge Mendes.

>
class="wp-block-paragraph">A recent report from Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on the future of Leao, suggesting that Barcelona have not yet made any concrete movement.
>
class="wp-block-paragraph">Romano confirms Leao has been offered to Barça in the past, but the club are yet to show any real desire to sign the Portuguese international.
>
class="wp-block-paragraph">This is despite the fact that the Catalans are in desperate need for a new striker, with Robert Lewandowski leaving the club after scoring 120 goals in four years.

>
class="wp-block-paragraph">While there shouldn’t be any logistical issues in bringing in Leao from AC Milan, the Portuguese star may not exactly fit into Barcelona’s system.
>
class="wp-block-paragraph">Although a centre-forward by trade, Leao is more of a dynamic option, identical to the versatile Ferran Torres. But in order to replace Lewandowski, the club would ideally sign a like-for-like replacement, unless they are able to land someone as technically gifted as Julian Alvarez.
>
class="wp-block-paragraph">Morever, Leao’s long-term contract at Milan means signing him won’t be cheap as the Rossoneri would like to maximise the economic benefits of selling their biggest player.
>
class="wp-block-paragraph">Barcelona, though, are in contention to sign another Portuguese international in Bernardo Silva, although they would require the final approval of Hansi Flick.
