CROMWELL, Conn. — A year after being officially announced as PGA Tour CEO, Brian Rolapp is adding another impressive title to his résumé.

>Following a lengthy presentation and Q&A in the TPC River Highlands clubhouse on Tuesday in which Rolapp outlined planned sweeping changes to the PGA Tour, it was announced that he would succeed outgoing commissioner Jay Monahan.

>"We all go through transitions in life, and this transition from Jay to Brian has been a textbook transition," PGA Tour Enterprises chairman Joe Gorder said. "Jay has done an incredible job supporting Brian, providing his wisdom and counsel to Brian, and being there every step of the way. He has sprinted this far and I'm sure he's going to sprint through the tape at the end of the year."

>Monahan took over for Tim Finchem as PGA Tour commissioner in 2017.

>Rolapp, formerly the NFL's Chief Media and Business Officer, will officially begin performing both duties on Jan. 1. He will be the fifth commissioner in PGA Tour history.
