>Along with his 23 points, Thornton had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 7-13 from the field. His 3-point shot also has been consistent and he made 2-4 in the victory over Brooklyn. — Bradeaux (@BradeauxNBA) July 16, 2026Houston traded up in the second round to draft the Ohio State legend and with every passing day they are made to look like geniuses. Thornton has been one of the Rockets' most consistent performers thus far and Thursday's 17 point victory adds another data point for his burgeoning resume.
>Houston head coach Ime Udoka will now have to work with his coaching staff and carve out a bigger role for Thornton. If his Summer League performance suggests anything, it's that it could end up being one of the best trades the organization has ever made.
