Bulldogs win third straight EIAC golf title

By a slim three stroke margin, Batesville won its third straight Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference golf title. Played at The Links at Rising Star, the Bulldogs finished with a 300 to win the championship.
>East Central was second with 303. Connersville took third with 312 followed by Franklin County 333, Greensburg 333, Lawrenceburg 333, Rushville 354 (season best) and South Dearborn 374.
>Batesville's Ian Hixson claims EIAC MVP with a 68 (-3). Four Bulldogs earn a spot on the All-EIAC team. Landon Raver and Jon Moody both finished with 77. Cooper Phebus was a shot back with 78 and Caleb Laker had a 91.
>Joining Hixson, Raver, Moody and Phebus on the All-EIAC team were East Central's Eli Sehlhorst (71), East Central's Ryan Fisher (75), Connersville's Trey Hughes (75), Connersville's Logan Young (76), Franklin County's Max Foster (76), Rushville's Ryder Flannery (77), East Central's Jon Sparhawk (78) and Greensburg's Logan Simpson (78).
>Other scores for the Pirates included Reece Chapman 79, Logan Fisse 84, Luke Schwering 92 and Landon Huff 95.
>"I was really pleased of the way the boys competed today and hopefully this will carry over to Friday in sectional," Coach Gindling noted.
>Rounding out the Rushville scoring was Landon Cain 83 (personal best), Tressler Owens 93, Kanyon Sparks 100 (personal best) and Kyle Jacobs 112.
