BYU Opens as Early Road Favorite Over TCU

Early lookahead lines were released this week for week five games, and BYU is an early 5.5-point road favorite over the Horned Frogs. This is the smallest favorite BYU has been so far; BYU was a 6.5-point home favorite versus Arizona. BYU has covered the spread in all three games.

class="wp-block-paragraph">BYU is 3-0 and has a bye this week while TCU has its Big 12 opener at UCF on Saturday. TCU is 2-1 on the season with a season-opening loss to UNC and wins over Grambling and Arkansas State. Running back Jeremy back is back at TCU after rushing for over 600 yards last year, and through three games Payne has rushed for 307 yards. TCU’s top receiver, Jordan Dwyer, will make his season debut versus UCF after missing the first three games due to injury. Dwyer had 730 receiving yards and 7 TDs last season.

class="wp-block-paragraph">TCU brought in Harvard transfer Jaden Craig as the starting QB. Craig struggled in the season opener versus UNC, but has thrown for over 300 yards in each of the past two games versus subpar competition. BYU beat TCU 44-13 in Provo last year, which snapped a 5-game losing streak in the series for the Cougs.
