Caleb Lomu shares special moment with Will Campbell after pick

FOXBOROUGH, Mass — Immediately after the New England Patriots selected Utah's Caleb Lomu, the offensive tackle received a message from a current player on his new team.

>And it was one he will be working very closely with.

>"Will Campbell already sent me a text," Lomu told reporters on a video call on Thursday night. "I haven't been able to respond yet, but I love that. Being able to come into a room, they just drafted him last year."

>So, did the two know each other before this?

>"Will Campbell? No, we didn't know each other before," Lomu explained. "He was probably the first person to text me when I looked at my phone after, then it kind of started to blow up a little bit. But I've never talked to him before.

>"I do follow him on social media, and I've always followed his journey from college. So, the fact I'm able to go to work with him now is, it's amazing. But we didn't know each other beforehand."

>But that didn't stop Campbell who was beyond excited to get another protector in the room.

>"I actually didn't read the whole thing, but it was kind of just on my page, but it said just ‘Congratulations, can't wait to work with you," Lomu said. "So, I'm excited to be able to reply to that and text him back."

>But, that wasn't all. Campbell also shared a post on his Instagram story, celebrating the team's pick while writing, "let's get it @caleblomu."
