Casemiro set to join Inter Miami after leaving Manchester United

class="wp-block-paragraph">Inter Miami have won the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Casemiro on a free transfer.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">According to Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian midfielder has reached a verbal agreement with the reigning Major League Soccer (MLS) champions.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">The agreement brings an end to months of speculation about Casemiro’s future since he announced his departure from Old Trafford this summer.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">The 34-year-old is set to become a free agent once his contract with United runs out on June 30.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">Since confirming his United exit, Casemiro’s future has been a hot topic heading into the summer, with several clubs across Europe and beyond throwing their hat in the ring.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">Miami weren’t the only MLS club interested in the Brazilian midfielder. Los Angeles Galaxy were also plotting a move while clubs in Saudi Arabia were in the mix.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">However, Romano has now confirmed that Casemiro ultimately chose to join Miami and is now expected to finalise the move after the World Cup.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">Casemiro is currently on international duty with Brazil. He played only the first half in the 1-1 draw against Morocco in Brazil’s curtain raiser, but lasted 90 minutes in the thumping 3-0 victory over Haiti.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">He’s also expected to play a crucial role for Brazil in their must-win final group stage fixture against Scotland at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">A draw would be enough for Casemiro and Brazil to qualify for the knockout stages, but only a win would solidify their place as Group C winners.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">Casemiro will undoubtedly be a massive addition for Miami. He has what it takes to fill the void left by Sergio Busquets, who retired at the end of the 2025 season.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">Miami have tried to replace the Barcelona legend by bringing in David Ayala from Portland Timbers, but the Argentine midfielder is still adapting to life in South Florida.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">Yannick Bright has also struggled to match the level he reached in the previous campaign.

>

class="wp-block-paragraph">Casemiro made 160 appearances during his four-year spell at United, scoring 26 goals and weighing in with 14 assists. He also won the EFL Cup and the FA Cup titles.
