>According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Celtics are one of the teams in the running to sign Bradley Beal, who is an unrestricted free agent.

>In addition to the Celtics, Fischer mentioned the Heat and Clippers as options for the three-time All-Star.

>"I was told today that Bradley Beal’s decision is not exactly being held up by LeBron, but is being impacted by it," said Fischer. "I do think there’s some Miami interest there, and I would not rule out Boston for Beal because of the connection with Jayson Tatum."

>Beal, 33, was last an All-Star in 2020-21 when he averaged a career-best 31.3 points per game. His scoring has declined in each season since. He averaged a career-low 8.2 points in the six games he appeared in with the Clippers in 2025-26.

>As Fischer mentioned, Beal's connection to Tatum would be a big reason for his move to Boston.

>Both St. Louis natives, Beal and Tatum grew up as childhood friends and went to the same high school. They both made Team USA's roster for the Paris Olympics, which would've been their first time competing as teammates, but Beal entered health and safety protocols before the tournament and had to be replaced.

>"Jayson and I have a special relationship," Beal said before the Olympics.

>The Celtics do have minutes up for grabs at the guard position. When you factor in his connection to Tatum, it's easy to see why Beal would be interested in Boston.

>Whether the Celtics would be better off giving those minutes to someone younger is a different conversation.
