>UFC Winnipeg lost one fight in the build-up, but the rest of the card went ahead without further problems at the scales.

>That smooth run seemed likely to continue as UFC Fight Night 242 approached, with Aljamain Sterling and Calvin Kattar both making weight for their featherweight main event.

>But after Sterling weighed in, an ex-title challenger faced a tense moment on the scales.

>The Brazilian stepped onto the scales earlier today, and it wasn’t long before concerns started to mount when she was asked to step off following her initial check.

>It led to a tense moment, but despite some visible concern on her face and having to strip down, Bueno Silva was cleared at 136 pounds, just under the bantamweight limit. She looked emotional on the scales and as she left the stage ahead of her first fight in over two years.

>Her most recent outing was a unanimous decision loss to Jacqueline Cavalcanti last November, which stretched her losing skid to four straight fights.

>That run includes her title fight defeat against Raquel Pennington for the vacant bantamweight belt – the same night Dricus du Plessis claimed gold from Sean Strickland.

>Bueno Silva hasn’t tasted victory since submitting Lina Lansberg in 2023. She did follow that up with a win over Holly Holm, but it was later overturned due to a suspension stemming from a failed drug test.
