Commanders' Chig Okonkwo is learning from Jayden Daniels

The Washington Commanders training camp is underway. Practices started last week, and today they donned pads for the first time. It was an overall good practice, with several players earning high praise on the day. A few players were made available to the media after practice to answer questions, and one of those players was Chig Okonkwo.

>After spending four years with the Tennessee Titans, Chig signed with the Commanders as a free agent this spring. Around the 2:30 mark of the video, Okonkwo is asked what he's learned from Jayden Daniels so far during camp.

>Okonkwo's answer points to one thing that some have questioned about Daniels: Accuracy. In 2024, Daniels used his legs a lot more often than most would like. He was looked at as a run-first quarterback, leading some people to believe his passes simply weren't accurate, and that's why he ran. Okonkwo's statement proves that Daniels' accuracy is not a problem.

>And, if you look at the video of Daniels finding Terry McLaurin in the end zone today during practice, it's simply another clue that Daniels' accuracy should not be questioned. On that particular play, Daniels put the ball where only McLaurin could get it. The whole play was smooth and seamless because McLaurin was exactly where he was supposed to be, and Daniels nailed his target.

>The more practice these guys get together, the more plays like this we will see. And when the season comes, it will feel normal for the players and become effortless.
