>The Kent batter was included in the squad for England's last ODI series against Sri Lanka in January, but loses his place after an uninspiring domestic campaign thus far, averaging 10.17 in his last six T20 Blast matches.

>All-rounder Jamie Overton, also included in January's squad, misses out having suffered a right thigh injury in May while on IPL duty with the Chennai Super Kings, creating an opportunity for the inclusion of highly rated all-rounder James Coles.

>The 22-year-old Sussex player, who fetched the top price of £390,000 in The Hundred auction earlier this year as he was bought by London Spirit, was also selected in the T20 squad for the ongoing five-match series against the same opponent.

>Elsewhere, England veteran Liam Livingstone's absence extends after the batter - who has exactly 100 caps for his country across all three formats - called interactions with Rob Key during the 2025 Champions Trophy campaign "the worst experiences I've had in cricket" during an interview with Cricinfo.
