Didier Deschamps emerges as candidate for Juventus job as pressure mounts on Luciano Spalletti

class="wp-block-paragraph">Former France national team manger Didier Deschamps has emerged as a candidate to takeover at Juventus FC as pressure continues to mount on Luciano Spalletti after another disappointing Serie A result for the Bianconeri, La Stampa reports. On Wednesday, Juventus have lost 2-0 against Genoa, relegating them to eighth in the standings. On Sunday, Juventus host SSC Napoli for what could be a decisive game for Spalletti’s future at the Allianz Stadium. La Stampa understands that Spalletti’s position as Juventus head coach is already seriously weakened, prompting the club’s executives to scour the market for a replacement.

La Stampa reports that Deschamps’ availability has been communicated through intermediaries. Deschamps would make his return at Juventus after spells as both player and manager. Deschamps notably led Juve to Serie A promotion in 2007 after the Bianconeri were relegated in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal.
