Dodgers Win Series, Claim Another Comfortable Victory Over A’s

The Los Angeles Dodgers took a 9-3 win over the Athletics on Tuesday, winning their three-game series against the AL squad without much issue.

class="wp-block-paragraph">Justin Wrobleski started the game for the Dodgers, and went seven innings to secure his 10th win of the season despite allowing all three earned runs. His ERA rose from 2.71 to 2.80 despite his strong effort in the Dodgers’ win.

The Dodgers struck early once again in the second game of the set, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. LA strung together a one-out center followed by a walk to put runners on first and second, and Mookie Betts came through with a single to left to score the first run of the game. Immediately after, Teoscar Hernandez hit a sacrifice fly to double the Dodgers’ lead.

The A’s—similarly to the first game of the series—immediately got a run back, but couldn’t regain take a lead as they did in the first game. Catcher Shea Langeliers ran on contact after a long single from Jonah Heim to score from first to make the score 2-1.

Freddie Freeman hit a double to lead off the inning, and Kyle Tucker managed to reach base shortly after. Tommy Edman came up big for the Dodgers, hitting his first homer since returning from the injured list—a three-run shot to make the score 5-1.

Miguel Rojas added a homer of his own a few innings later, hitting a solo homer 410 feet to extend the Dodgers’ lead even further.

LA continued to add on to the lead in the following inning, as the Dodgers put runners on first and second with just one out. Edman singled in yet another run for the Dodgers, followed by a Rojas sacrifice fly. Dalton Rushing chipped in for his first hit of the night afterwards to score another run for the Dodgers.

class="wp-block-paragraph">The A’s hit a two-run homer in the following half-inning, but struggled to generate any more offense throughout the night as the Dodgers took the win.
