England fans share what they really thought about Mexico’s support at the Azteca

>Goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane secured a spot in the quarter final against Norway later this week.

>The game was always going to be a difficult one for Thomas Tuchel’s side given all the different factors England faced heading into the iconic stadium.

>However, the Three Lions dealt with the hostile atmosphere, which the travelling England supporters also had to deal with in the stands.

>It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of the English supporters at the stadium where England were dumped out of the 1986 World Cup by Argentina.

>Having witnessed the support of the Mexicans, a lot of England fans left the Azteca saying exactly the same thing.

>The altitude was a huge talking point going into the game, but the hostile atmosphere was also something England had to take into consideration.

>“I’ve been hugging so many people. I’ve lost my England hat and I’ve got a Mexico hat now. I’m just saying, they are the most beautiful people and the best fans in the world,” one England supporter told BBC Sport.

>An attendance of 80,824 was recorded at the Azetca for the clash between Mexico and England.

>“It was difficult. It was the loudest stadium I’ve ever been in,” added another England fan.

>“I’ve never been anywhere like it,” said one England supporter after leaving the Azteca.

>England will now face Norway in Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium – home of the Miami Dolphins – on Saturday.
