England's Maguire wins gold in T54 1500m

England's Nathan Maguire won the T54 1500m at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow to retain the title he won four years ago in Birmingham.

>The 28-year-old Paralympic silver medallist found space on the inside of the track and pushed hard to break away from the field, finishing in a time of three minutes 17.65 seconds.

>England team-mate Daniel Sidbury took silver behind him, just as he did in 2022.

>The gold medal is England's fifth in athletics at the Games so far, following victories for Georgia Hunter Bell, Thomas Young, Sophie Hahn and Zac Shaw.
