>Sources told ESPN, The Athletic and the Chicago Tribune about the pact Wednesday morning.
>Powell, 33, averaged 21.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game over 58 appearances last season en route to his first All-Star selection.
>He joined the Heat from the Los Angeles Clippers last July through a trade, which also involved the Utah Jazz.
>Powell, a second-round pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2015 NBA Draft, has been traded three times. He joined the Toronto Raptors in a draft-day trade. He also was traded in 2021, when the Raptors sent him to the Portland Trail Blazers.
>The Blazers traded Powell to the Clippers in 2022.
>The 6-foot-3 guard, who won a title in 2019 with the Raptors, averaged 14 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists through his first 11 seasons. He made 675 appearances, including 311 starts.
