Flau’jae Johnson’s Mom Shares 4-Word Reaction As Former LSU Teammate Joins Marina Mabrey In Toronto

Last summer, the Sun drafted Morrow seventh overall.

>In exchange for Morrow’s trade on Friday, the Sun received the rights to Maria Kliundikova and a 2028 second-round WNBA Draft pick. Morrow will join star guard Marina Mabrey in Toronto.

Comments section.Flau’jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow were a formidable duo at LSU. After Morrow transferred from DePaul ahead of the 2023-24 season, she joined Johnson under head coach Kim Mulkey. They helped the Tigers reach the Elite Eight in both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 NCAA Tournaments.

>Morrow will strengthen Tempo’s frontcourt. This season, she has averaged 11.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists. She has recorded nine double-doubles already this season. With Marina Mabrey leading the Tempo offensively in their inaugural season, Toronto has another reason to feel good about this season.

Marina Mabrey’s Toronto GM Welcomes Former LSU StarTempo general manager Monica Wright Rogers praised Aneesah Morrow following the trade announcement:

We believe she’s one of the emerging frontcourt talents in this league, and we’re excited to see her play in a Tempo uniform.”

>Meanwhile, the Sun bid farewell to their former power forward:

We wish Aneesah nothing but continued success in the next chapter of her career.”

>The Sun got former 11th overall pick Maria Kliundikovat, who last played for the Minnesota Lynx last season, where she averaged 4.4 points and 3 rebounds in 11 minutes per game.

>Morrow joins Toronto’s franchise, which is 10-18 this season, with the frontcourt emerging as a big issue for them. The 23-year-old joins the young Tempo frontcourt consisting of Isabella Harrison and Nyara Sabally, who have appeared in 16 and 19 games, respectively.

>The Tempo would like to extract the best out of Morrow from what remains this season.
