class="has-text-align-none">The veteran president secured another term after defeating Enrique Riquelme in Sunday’s vote, a result that had been widely anticipated by pre-election polling.
class="has-text-align-none">Speaking shortly after the results became official, Pérez thanked the membership for their support and stressed the importance of the democratic process that led to his re-election.
“This is a very happy day for Real Madrid fans. Thank you so much for your support because without the members who voted for us, it wouldn’t have been possible to win these elections. We won at every polling station. We achieved the second-best result in the history of Real Madrid elections. And the results could have been even better because some votes were challenged. We chose not to appeal. We have set an example of transparency and democracy.”
Pérez also pointed to what he views as the club’s strongest assets heading into the future: its squad, coaching staff, and member-owned structure. During his remarks, he specifically highlighted the return of José Mourinho, who was recently confirmed as Real Madrid’s head coach.
“We are very proud to have the best players in the world and to have one of the best coaches in the world, José Mourinho, back. Real Madrid has been, is, and will continue to belong to its members.”
The president then turned his attention to the objectives that will define his new mandate. Maintaining Real Madrid’s position among the world’s elite institutions and continuing the pursuit of European success remain central themes of his project.
“I want to continue building a club that remains a leader in all the world rankings. All of this to keep winning until we reach our sixteenth European Cup. I will do everything possible to address the concerns of the members who did not vote for me.”
