Florida State basketball target commits to Big 12 power

Luke Loucks and Florida State basketball built an exceptional recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, landing several of their top targets and building one of the best classes in the ACC.

>They are looking to do so once again in the 2027 cycle, but have missed out on a top target. Four-star combo guard Oneal Delancy has committed to the Houston Cougars over the Seminoles. He was also considering the Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Maryland Terrapins.

>Delancy is ranked as the No. 46 overall player and No. 8 combo guard in the 247Sports composite. The Saint Petersburg native is the No. 10 player in Florida.

>FSU extended him a scholarship offer in May of 2025, getting him to campus in September of that year for an unofficial visit. He returned to Tallahassee on June 15, 2026, for his official visit, but it was not enough as he ultimately committed to the Cougars.

>The Seminoles, who signed six high school prospects last season, are looking for their first commitment in the 2027 cycle. They have plenty of time to get going; Delancy is just the 13th of the top 50 players in the country to announce his commitment.
