>The New England Patriots have played very well over the past couple of games, a promising sign for a team that didn't look like it was going to be anything like it was a season ago. The Patriots have now won three straight, including two divisional wins against the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.
>They also got a 45-17 win over a tough Las Vegas Raiders team in between. Many factors contributed to the Patriots' slow start, but quarterback Drake Maye's struggles were at the top of the list.
>Maye hasn't been perfect over the past three weeks, but he looks like the player everyone expected him to be.
>He's thrown 10 touchdowns over the past three weeks and just one interception, a very promising sign. While it seems like Maye has figured things out and is back to his old form, one former NFL player doesn't believe that, saying the last two games have been a fluke and that he's played two bottom teams in the NFL.
>"Drake Maye is a fluke. These last two games has been a fluke," said Jarvis Landry, H/T Patriots Wire.
>"He's played the bottom half of pass defense in the NFL. This middle part of this schedule is probably one of the weakest parts of the schedule that they have—that I've ever seen, including the schedule that they had last year that got them all the way to the Super Bowl. And then he gets to the Super Bowl and play against a real defense in Seattle, and we all know what happens. Then he opens the year against Seattle, we all saw what happened."
>Not to say that the Jets or Raiders are both elite teams by any means, but this is the NFL at the end of the day.
>Maye has to go out and do what he's done best for much of his career in those games, and he did exactly that.
>It's unfair to say a player is playing bad competition when he's facing teams that might not be contenders, since there are only a handful of those in the entire league.
