Russell Wilson has officially announced his retirement from the NFL.
>This has been the expected route for Wilson after numerous reports indicated earlier this week that he was finalizing a deal to join CBS Sports as a studio analyst.
>The veteran had been connected to the Jets for their QB2 spot.
>Gang Green will now have to look elsewhere, though, as Wilson has instead decided to hang up the spikes after a successful 14-year playing career.
>The 37-year-old, of course, spent his final NFL season with the Giants.
>He signed with Big Blue on a one-year deal last offseason, expecting to serve as their top guy under center, but ended up being benched for rookie Jaxson Dart just three games in.
>Wilson would appear in just three more games off the bench the rest of the year.
>He wraps up his career with a 64.6 completion percentage, 46,966 yards, and 353 TDs across 205 games.
>The gunslinger won the Pro Bowl in just his second NFL season, reached the Pro Bowl a total of 10 times, and took home a Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his tremendous off-the-field work.
