Former New England Patriots cornerback Joejuan Williams joined the Washington Commanders earlier this week under the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. He confirmed the news on social media.

>Williams was selected by the Patriots with the 45th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in 36 regular season games for the team and recorded 44 total tackles and no interceptions. The Vanderbilt product also recorded eight passes defensed in his career.

>Now, he has an opportunity to make an impact with the Commanders in a different capacity. The fellowship is a vocational tool aimed at improving the number of minority coaches in the NFL.
