Former Spartan Jaden Akins shines in summer league once again

Former Michigan State basketball standout, and local star, Jaden Akins is looking to carve a path into the NBA. After having a monstrous season with the Motor City Cruise, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, Akins has hooked up with the New York Knicks for summer league action.

>With the Knicks in summer league, Akins is making his case for getting a real shot at the NBA level. On Thursday against the Golden State Warriors, it was a tremendous effort from the former Spartan, who shined on the stat sheet.

>Akins scored 21 points in the contest, going 9-for-20 shooting, while going 3-for-8 from behind the three-point line. If performances like this continue, Akins might just play his way onto a roster next season.
