Four Section 1 girls lacrosse teams compete in the state semifinals at SUNY Cortland

For the four Section 1 champions whose success this far has brought them to Cortland, the moments they've dreamed of and worked toward are now within reach. As the girls lacrosse season concludes this weekend, those local teams are among the last standing in their respective classifications, each needing two more wins to capture a long-awaited state championship.

>Suffern, Nyack, Rye and Pleasantville each won regional finals last week, extending their seasons and sending them to the state semifinals at SUNY Cortland, where each of them will face a Long Island counterpart on June 12.

>Suffern reached the state final for a third time last spring, Rye went as far in 2024, Nyack is competing in the final four for the first time since 2010, and Pleasantville is on a historic run, having never gone this far before.

Saturday, June 12Class A semifinal

>Suffern vs. Huntington, 9 a.m.

>Class B semifinal

>Nyack vs. Garden City, 11:30 a.m.

>Class C semifinal

>Rye vs. Sayville, 2 p.m.
