Mandatory Credit: Ken Blaze-USA TODAY SportsNew York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson has been visibly frustrated in recent weeks, with the team sitting at 2-5 and the star wideout rarely getting the ball. And with the trade deadline approaching, that frustration has led to plenty of speculation about his future in New York.

>On Wednesday, Wilson addressed that speculation head-on, saying that he wants to stay with the Jets. But he also made it clear that his patience with losing is wearing thin, admitting that he doesn’t love New York more than he loves winning.

Garrett Wilson’s Frustration Boils OverWilson was visibly upset on the sideline during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 28-25 loss to the previously winless Miami Dolphins. He was targeted just three times in the game, finishing with two catches for 26 yards, one week after being a complete nonfactor in a loss to the New England Patriots.

>The Jets selected Wilson with the No. 10 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and they have gone 24-41 since then. A little over a year ago, he signed a four-year, $130 million contract extension that runs through 2030.

>The Jets traded cornerback Sauce Gardner at last year’s deadline just a few months after giving him an extension of his own. However, there has been no indication that the team is looking to deal Wilson ahead of this year’s Nov. 10 deadline.

‘I’m hopeful’Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Wilson said that he wants to remain in New York, but there’s a catch.

>“Yeah, I want to be here, man,” Wilson said, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini. “I want to win games and that’s the one thing we’ve been missing on here. I love it here. Do I love it more than I love winning? Nah, to be completely honest, but I’m hopeful.

>“I’ve never been the best optimistic guy, but I’ve found a way and dug deep, and I’ve been optimistic for three, four, five years now. And that’s why these [losses] each weekend hurt a little more.”

>When asked if the lack of opportunities adds to his frustration, Wilson didn’t deny it.

>“No doubt, no doubt,” Wilson said. “I’d be lying if I said it’s not, but at the end of the day it comes down to … winning and losing. Throughout my experience, when things go right, I tend to have a part in that. And when it doesn’t, it seems avoidable.

>“That’s my main frustration that may show on the TV or something like that. But I don’t want it to ever be misconstrued. This all comes from a place in my heart of wanting to win.”

>Needless to say, if the Jets keep losing, Wilson’s frustration probably isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
