FridayDistrict 8-6A - Treasure Coast 42, St. Lucie West Centennial 0

>The Titans are above .500 for the first time in three seasons after routing the Eagles at South County Regional Sports Complex.

>Andre Mackey and Adam Serieux each rushed for two touchdowns. Xavier Williams scored on a 35-yard punt return, while Easton Keene capped the offensive onslaught with a short touchdown run in the fourth quarter. The Titans also added a safety.

>Winners of their last three games, the Titans (3-2, 1-0 District) will look to extend their winning streak next week when they host Fort Pierce Westwood.

District 13-4A - Jensen Beach 35, Port St. Lucie 0Playing in a homecoming game can create plenty of issues, but the Falcons put those aside to knock off the visiting Jaguars.

>“They kind of put all the distractions of the festivities behind them,” Jensen Beach head coach Tim Caffey said. “We concentrated on what we needed to do and played well. We still have some things we need to work on, but overall, it was a pretty good team effort.”

>Caffey lamented his team’s penalties but credited the victory to the Falcons' strong first-half performance.

>Dre Lott accounted for three total touchdowns, rushing for two scores and throwing for another. Tyrie MaFadden and Nasean Estelhomme also found the end zone.

>Jensen Beach (4-2, 2-0 District) is off next week. The Falcons can take a major step toward a second consecutive district title when they travel to Heritage at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9.

District 13-4A - Fort Pierce Westwood 36, Legacy 3Entering the night without a win in September, the Panthers used a strong second half to pull away from the Lions at Lawnwood Stadium.

>But not all victories are created equal. Even in a blowout, Westwood head coach LaDaris Vann left unsatisfied with his team's performance.

>“I'm not going to say that we played a great game. It was an OK game with a very slow start, which wasn't what I expected or what I wanted,” he said. “We got the victory as we should have. But I'm not going home celebrating it.”

>Vann was most displeased with a sluggish, undisciplined first half in which his team committed four turnovers before taking an 8-3 lead into halftime.

>“We got to get the kids more focused on the task at hand, understanding that you must do your job,” he said. “They must look in the mirror, be accountable and make sure we execute each and every play.”

>The Panthers (3-2) found their rhythm in the second half behind Elize Pierre. The sophomore quarterback accounted for three total touchdowns, throwing for two scores and rushing for another. Senior wide receiver Jermaine Walker added two touchdowns, while senior Jorden Swoope scored once.

>Legacy (2-4) will look to rebound on a short week when it hosts Beachside at 6 p.m. Thursday.

District 10-1A - John Carroll Catholic 23, Pahokee 20The Rams are 2-0 in the Muck. After closing August with a two-score victory over Glades Central, John Carroll earned a much tighter win at Pahokee.

>Stats were unavailable for the Rams, who led 15-14 at halftime before surrendering their advantage in the third quarter. The visitors regained the lead in the fourth quarter, and a missed field-goal attempt by the Blue Devils preserved the victory.

>“It’s great,” John Carroll head coach Mickey Groody said. “Our kids have been working very hard since January. And I think it kind of just proves how well they've done and how hard they've worked to kind of reap the rewards of all that hard work. It sets us up great for our district.”

>John Carroll will host Holy Trinity at 7 p.m. Friday at McGuide Stadium.

St. Edward’s 29, All Saints’ Academy 0Backup quarterback Nolan Ange threw three touchdown passes to lead the Pirates past the Saints in Vero Beach.

>The freshman connected with Christian Alfonso for two touchdowns and Tristen Scent for another. Kayleb Redmon added a rushing touchdown. Ange started at quarterback after junior Dylan Colontrelle was sidelined with an injury suffered in last week's game against Cocoa Beach.

>St. Edward’s offense was complemented by a defense that forced multiple turnovers. Redmon recorded an interception, as did Colton Freedman.

>“It was an overall team effort. Anytime you start a backup quarterback, especially a freshman backup quarterback, you kind of rely on the defense and the offensive line,” St. Edward’s head coach said. “I thought they all did a nice job of stepping up and supporting the effort.”

>St. Edward’s (3-4) will look to return to the .500 mark when it hosts Glades Day at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Jupiter Christian 48, Tradition Prep 0The Pirates were blanked for the third time this season after falling at home against the Eagles . Jupiter Christian put up 41 points in the first half. Tradition Prep (1-5) returns home next week against Moore Haven.

Lake Placid 24, Okeechobee 6The Brahmans’ losing streak ballooned to four games following a road defeat to the Dragons.

ThursdayGlades Day 28, Master’s Academy 21The winless Patriots put up a strong fight but ultimately came up short on the road against the Gators.

>Stats were unavailable for Master’s Academy (0-6), which fell behind 14-0 in the second quarter before rallying to make the game competitive. The Patriots scored 21 of the next 27 points and took a 21-20 lead in the third quarter before surrendering the go-ahead score in the fourth.

>“Our boys played extremely hard, especially being a little low on numbers tonight,” Patriots head coach Stephen Boyer said. “Glades Day played an outstanding game and is a very respectful program.”
