Coming off of his first All-Star appearance last season, Alperen Sengun entered his fifth season in the league and the first year of a new five-year $185 million contract extension. Once again, Sengun was quite durable, having now suited up in at least 72 games in four out of his first five seasons.

>In those games, Sengun averaged 20.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 33.3 minutes per game. Of those numbers, both blocks and assists marked new career-highs. While his free-throw shooting stayed the same (69.1%), Sengun saw improvements in field goal percentage (51.9) and 3-point percentage (30.5%). While long-range shooting should still be an area of emphasis moving forward, his development in this regard was encouraging, considering he shot a career-low 23.3% from deep a season ago. As far as accolades are concerned, the Turkish center made his second straight All-Star appearance but fell short of the All-NBA Third Team despite receiving votes. Moving forward, the Rockets will hope Sengun can level up his performance by improving his efficiency, decision-making and leadership.
