Despite hovering near the cut line for much of Wednesday's second round, Charlie Woods missed the cut at the North & South Men's Amateur at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in North Carolina.
>Woods, a rising senior at The Benjamin School and the son of golf legend Tiger Woods, finished at 7-over-par through 36 holes at Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4.
>Woods was one shot outside the projected cut line with four holes remaining in his second round. He closed with two bogeys, a triple bogey and another bogey over his final four holes, falling six shots short of advancing to match play.
>The top 31 golfers made the cut at the North & South Men's Amateur to advance to match play competition, which will begin Thursday.
>Pinehurst's No. 2 has hosted five major championships, including four U.S. Open championships, most recently in 2024.
>It is considered an "anchor site" for the United States Golf Association and will host four more U.S. Open tournaments through 2050.
