How Does Luis Arraez Fit On Phillies?

The Phillies offense was in need of a bat, and Arraez is that and a half. He is one of the best hitters in baseball, and even though he does not bring much slug, he can do wonders for any offense.

>He puts the ball in play, does not strike out, and is always a tough at-bat. Positionally, he has been at second base this year and has actually been an elite defender there. Defense was always a problem with Arraez, but he has shined at second base, playing on a one-year deal.

>Bryson Stott has been the team's regular second baseman, and the fact that he is also left-handed means he and Arraez cannot platoon there. Arraez can also play first base, but given how well he's played defensively at second base this season, the Phillies may not want to move him.

>According to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, Bryce Harper will move back to the outfield to make room for Arraez, Alec Bohm will move to first base, and Stott will move to third base. Adding Arraez will shuffle the entire infield for a couple of months, but his bat is worth it. He is slashing .324/.360/.440 and is currently leading the National League in batting average. He will try to help the Phillies win the World Series, while also going for his fourth batting title.

>The Phillies may have preferred a right-handed bat, considering their batting average against lefties is ranked 25th in MLB. However, Arraez can hit against anyone. He is hitting .315 against southpaws with a .782 OPS this season. Moving Harper to the outfield will also drastically help the Phillies' offensive output from the outfield spots.
