We are diving into some fantasy football content this offseason as we look to bring in all sorts of football fans to Bucs Wire. While offensive players often dominate fantasy football discussions, IDP leagues continue to grow in popularity and offer another way for fans to enjoy the game.

>What we will start with is some rookie profiles and where they fit into the landscape of the teams that drafted them. Next up is Indianapolis Colts linebacker CJ Allen.

>Allen enters the NFL after a productive career at Georgia, where he developed into one of the more reliable linebackers in the 2026 class. His best season came in 2025, when he finished with 71 tackles, 39 defensive stops, two forced fumbles and an 88.6 run-defense grade from PFF.

That is one of the most valuable rookie roles for fantasy managers, especially for a player whose game is built around diagnosing quickly, triggering downhill, and finishing tackles.

>His calling card is reliability. Allen is not the flashiest athlete in the class, but he processes quickly, plays physical football, and rarely looks out of place. He can take on blocks, work through traffic, and make plays in the box, which gives him the kind of tackle floor IDP managers chase.

>The Colts also have enough talent up front to keep him clean. DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart can occupy blockers inside, while Laiatu Latu and Arden Key create pressure off the edge. That front should allow Allen to flow to the ball and pile up tackles behind them.

2026 OutlookAllen should be viewed as one of the safer rookie linebacker options in redraft IDP leagues. His projected role gives him a clear path to volume, and volume is king at linebacker.

>The concern is the ceiling. Allen may not create as many splash plays as some of the more explosive linebackers in this class, and his fantasy value will likely come more from steady tackle production than sacks or turnovers.

>Still, that is not a bad thing. In redraft IDP formats, Allen has the profile of a dependable LB3 with LB2 upside if he plays a full-time role right away. Fantasy managers looking for rookie linebackers with immediate tackle production should have him firmly on the radar.
