1) Kartik SharmaCSK made quite the buzz at the IPL 2026 auction when they bought uncapped Kartik Sharma for a whopping INR 14.5 crore. The massive investment on the young hard-hitting batter grabbed the headlines and the franchise expected Sharma to live up to the expectations.

He maintained an average of 32.78 and batted at a strike rate of just 136.57. If CSK release Sharma, they will be able to add back the INR 14.5 crore to their purse before the next mini-auction.

2) Prashant VeerAnother massive investment for CSK at the IPL 2026 mini-auction was Prashant Veer, who commanded a similar price to that of Kartik Sharma, making him the joint most expensive signing last season.
