>The Knicks owner delivered the message in an April 3 speech that was later released on the Roommates Show podcast, hosted by Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart.
>Dolan urged the roster to leave nothing on the table as New York prepared for a playoff run that ended with the franchise’s first title since 1973.

He also urged players to focus on their diets, sleep and overall discipline during the postseason.
>The most unusual part of the speech came when Dolan jokingly suggested another sacrifice for the 10-week playoff run.
>“I had this idea that maybe you should give up s– for the next 10 weeks. The Spartans, they denied themselves, right, so they can have an edge. Get the edge.
>“Go home, talk to your wives. Don’t tell them it was my idea. But let them know what this is going to be like, what this commitment is going to be like.”
>The comment was part of a wider message about commitment before the Knicks began the postseason.
>Dolan also told players that their wives and significant others would receive rings if New York won the championship. The Knicks went on to win their next four regular-season games before resting starters in the final game.
Dolan speech came before Knicks ended 53-year title droughtThe speech was delivered with five games left in the regular season. New York then went 16-3 in the playoffs and recorded a 13-game postseason winning streak.
>The Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in five games to win their first NBA championship since 1973. Dolan told the team during the April speech that the roster had a rare opportunity.
>“This team can win it all. I don’t know if you understand what it would mean for you to win the championship this year. … It would be life-changing for all of you.”
>He also referenced the team’s coaching change from Tom Thibodeau to Mike Brown and said the organization believed the roster was good enough to win.
>Dolan urged players to follow Brown during the playoff run and commit fully to the team’s approach.
>“Your coach has the answers to what we need to do in order to win. You have to take his guidance. Dedicate yourselves to correcting the things that he has pointed out to you. You got to leave nothing on the table. You must go for it.”
