>The 38-year-old signed a two-year deal, with a club option for a third, for a Dallas team set to begin play in the USL next season and presumably in a conference with the El Paso Locomotive. Hernandez is the Mexico national team’s all-time leading scorer and worked as a television commentator in this past World Cup.

>He last played in 2025 for Guadalajara Chivas and earlier in his career played 10 years in top European leagues.
>“I believe Dallas deserves a club that reflects its passion for football, its diversity, and its future,” Hernandez said. “I want to help create a winning culture, inspire young players across North Texas, and give our supporters a team they can believe in from the very beginning. I didn't come here simply to finish my career. I came here to help build the future of football in Dallas.”
