However, there haven’t been any concrete updates on any progress made from the two sides.

class="wp-block-paragraph">On Wednesday, Lions general manager Brad Holmes offered some brief thoughts on the situation while doing a radio show on SiriusXM with Pat Kirwan and Jacob Hester.

class="wp-block-paragraph">“Look, obviously we love Jahmry,” Holmes said. “Me and Dan (Campbell) have always been believers in that one-two punch. I just think that’s how this league is going now. But, you know, we’re having dialogue. We’ll see where it goes.“

class="wp-block-paragraph">Kirwan then offers a reassuring, “It’ll get there.” To which Holmes replies, “That’s the hope.”

But it’s also in Holmes’ best interest to not say anything that could impact negotiations. So I wouldn’t read too much into this.

class="wp-block-paragraph">Still, combine this short clip with Campbell’s earlier comments that he was surprised a deal hadn’t been done by now, and this saga is certainly drawing out longer than most anticipated. Hopefully this entire situation will be in the rear-view mirror soon.
