>The Giants wide receiver praised McCarthy’s arm talent and ability to find open receivers, offering a clear message about how the offence can help its new quarterback succeed.

>Winston had guided New York to a 2-1-1 record across four starts while Jaxson Dart recovered from injury, but the Giants have now turned to McCarthy after trading for him.

Malik Nabers explains how New York Giants can help J.J. McCarthyWith another quarterback change to navigate, Nabers was asked how he approaches working with so many different passers during his time in New York.

>Speaking to reporters, he said: “Get open. Just get open. They’re going to find you, and they know who their guys are.”

>Nabers also explained that receivers need to make life easier for a quarterback who is still learning the offence and getting to know his teammates.

>He added: “So just trust us, you know, and we’re going to get open for you. You know, just expect that, me, Zay (Isaiah Likely), Malachi (Fields), Moon (Darnell Mooney) we’ll get open.”

>The Giants have plenty riding on the connection between Nabers and McCarthy. Nabers has recorded 41 receptions for 494 yards and two touchdowns this season, despite dealing with changing circumstances under centre.

>The receiver has already had an opportunity to work with McCarthy, catching four passes for 81 yards from him against the New Orleans Saints.

>Nabers appears encouraged by what he has seen from the quarterback, particularly his ability to deliver the ball and give receivers opportunities to make plays.

>“He’s got very good arm talent, throws a great ball. I mean, finds open guys, give guys a shot, give guys a chance to go make plays. And that’s what we’re gonna rally around,” Nabers said.

McCarthy’s time with Minnesota raised questions about his production, making his move into the Giants’ starting role a decision that will attract attention.

>His next challenge will be to build a connection with Nabers and the rest of New York’s receiving group. If the pair can translate their early signs of promise into consistent production, the Giants may have found a partnership worth building around.
