Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm reminds the team to keep their emotions in check ahead of Game 3 on Thursday.

Boston will host the Buffalo Sabres in a pivotal Game 3 with the series tied 1-1. With the Bruins back at home, Sturm is expecting the crowd to be intense, and although he wants Boston to feed off the energy, he knows they have to keep their emotions in check.

“We love playing at home, we love playing in front of our crowd,” Sturm said pregame on Thursday. “The biggest thing for us, we don’t want to change any of our style of play. We want to play Bruins hockey, but also kind of stay in control a little bit and keep our emotions under control, so we can stick with our game plan.”

Sturm knows the team can’t afford to take any unnecessary penalties against the Sabres power play. Instead, Sturm hopes Boston starts strong and gets the crowd going even more to use that energy for a pivotal Game 3 win.

The Bruins had the second-best record on home ice in the league this regular season (29-11-1). Boston is expected to continue to play the same lineup, with Jeremy Swyaman getting his third-straight start.

Puck drop for Game 3 is set for 7 p.m. ET on Thursday at TD Garden in Boston.
