Martin O'Neill made permanent Celtic managerCeltic have confirmed that veteran manager Martin O'Neill has been given the permanent job on an initial one-year deal.

>O'Neill took over midway through the 2025/26 campaign with the Bhoys underperforming and in danger of losing their grip on the title. The 74-year-old managed to turn things around with the club eventually lifting the Premiership and winning yet another Scottish Cup.

>"It is once again a great privilege for me to continue as Celtic manager," O'Neill said after penning a deal that covers the 2026/27 campaign and has the option for an additional year.

>"Last season will live long in all our memories and to be part of that success has in a big way whetted the appetite to work again for more days like those and bring our supporters those moments.

>"Of course, none of this could have been achieved without the players and staff and I want to take this opportunity to thank them for bringing that level of focus, determination and talent to bear at the conclusion of the season to deliver the league and Cup double."

>The former Republic of Ireland boss oversaw 35 Celtic games on his return to the club, winning 27, drawing four, and suffering four defeats.
