The Golden State Warriors are looking to make upgrades this summer after narrowly falling in the NBA Play-In Tournament for the second time in the last four seasons. Now that head coach Steve Kerr is back into the fold, the Warriors are all-in on building around former two-time MVP Stephen Curry.
>While many expect Golden State to add to their roster via trade, reports are insistent that the Warriors will make a push to sign current free agent and former Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, "League sources maintain that Golden State remains legitimately interested in adding LeBron to their Stephen Curry/Jimmy Butler/Draymond Green core."
>Not only does this indicate their pursuit of James in free agency, but it also displays a level of patience in Golden State's front office as it pertains to Jimmy Butler III, who will miss a large chunk of the season due to a season-ending ACL tear suffered in January. However, if James re-signs with the Lakers or chooses to join another franchise, the Warriors will likely be forced to the trade market, with Kawhi Leonard becoming the next most sensible target.
