Nebraska women's basketball announced its nonconference schedule to open up the 2026-2027 season this past Thursday. The Huskers face off against 11 nonconference opponents, including some of the best teams from the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and BIG EAST. The main standout clashes include Kansas, Creighton, Texas A&M and California.

>Nebraska starts the season against San Jose State at home, before welcoming in Ohio Valley Conference champion Western Illinois. The Leathernecks finished 26-6 last season and face North Carolina in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Huskers then face off against North Carolina A&T.

>Nebraska then takes on Kansas for the 87th time up at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., for its first big battle of the season, reigniting one of the program's oldest rivalries. The Jayhawks finished 22-14 last season and reached the 2026 Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament semifinals.

>Then, following a homestand against Mount Saint Mary's, the Huskers head up to Omaha for its annual bout with Creighton. Nebraska then returns home for a four-game stretch, taking on Kansas City, Omaha, North Dakota and Texas A&M. The Aggies last met Nebraska in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, where the Huskers won 61-59.

>Nebraska then concludes nonconference play out in San Francisco at the Chase Center against California. The Golden Bears finished 21-15 last season and advanced to the 2026 WBIT quarterfinals. Once holiday break finishes, the Huskers open their 18-game Big Ten regular-season schedule in late December.
