Nebraska sets viewership records at Women's College World Series

Nebraska softball's season came to an end on Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 loss to the Texas Longhorns in the NCAA Women’s College World Series. The Huskers set multiple records throughout the WCWS, including the most-watched game on opening Thursday.
>Nebraska's opening-day clash with Arkansas averaged 1.4 million viewers and peaked at 1.6 million. The primetime game ended in the 10th in walk-off fashion with Ava Kuszak striking a two-run home run to end the night.
>The game capped off a record-setting opening day of the Women's College World Series. It was the most-watched opening Thursday game on record, with an average of 1.2 million viewers, up 63% year-over-year.
>Nebraska also set an attendance record for its first two games, with Thursday drawing 12,605 fans, the highest-attended WCWS session ever. The Huskers then set a session-four attendance record in their game against Alabama, with 12,679 fans.
>The Huskers finished the season with a record of 52-8, tying a program record for the most wins in a single season. Nebraska also finished in a tie for fifth place at the WCWS, which marked the program’s highest finish since 2002.
