Stanley Cup Playoffs 2026: Bracket, scores and schedule as Hurricanes face Golden Knights in Stanley Cup Final

The 2026 Stanley Cup Final matchup has been set. The Carolina Hurricanes capped off their domination of the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Final, and they meet the Vegas Golden Knights with the Cup on the line.

>Vegas drew first blood in this matchup on Tuesday night as it won a high-scoring Game 1, 5-4, on the road. Tomas Hertl tallied the game-winner with under four minutes remaining in the third period as the Golden Knights undressed a Hurricanes defense that looked unbeatable through the first three rounds.

>Shea Theodore and Brayden McNabb combined for six points from the blue line, and Mitch Marner built his Conn Smythe Trophy resume with a couple of huge plays, including an assists and a key block at the end of the game.

>Carolina did get two goals out of speedy forward Nikolaj Ehlers, but it was on its heels for the final two periods. The Hurricanes committed too many costly turnovers and got too few saves from Frederik Andersen to win Game 1. They must find a way to win Game 2 on Thursday in order to get a split at home.
