Ohio State football will find out its fate for another highly touted recruit soon. Head coach Ryan Day and the coaching staff have ended June with a fury, landing commitments from several high-profile prospects. Now the Buckeyes hope to add another as the calendar flips to July.
>Four-star cornerback Monsanna Torbert has set a commitment date for July 1 at 5 p.m. Ohio State is battling two other Big Ten foes for Torbert's services in defending national champion Indiana and arch-rival Michigan. However, this seems to be a two-team race between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines, as Torbert was originally committed to the Hoosiers but backed out of his verbal pledge a few months ago.
>Torbert is an Ohio native hailing from Cincinnati, which might feel like an advantage for the Bucks. But the Queen City hasn't always been kind to OSU, sending many players from the talent-rich area up north. The coveted corner made an official visit to Columbus on June 14 and then to Ann Arbor the following weekend. All reports indicated that Torbert really enjoyed his time at Michigan, even landing a crystal ball prediction for the Maize and Blue. However, Ohio State still feels like they are in a strong position to earn his commitment.
