Olivia Miles Dodges Caitlin Clark Mention, Admits Being in Awe of Kelsey Mitchell

Caitlin Clark, Olivia Miles, Kelsey Mitchell © ImagnOlivia Miles got drafted as the No. 2 pick by the Minnesota Lynx, and she has been on fire ever since her debut. She has averaged 19.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 28 games, helping the Lynx get to the top of the WNBA standings.

>Their most recent win came against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever on Sunday. The 108-100 victory pushed Minnesota’s winning streak to 10 games.

>When asked by ESPN’s Holly Rowe how it was for her as a competitor to face Caitlin Clark for the first time in the WNBA, Miles chose not to mention Clark in her answer but gave Kelsey Mitchell her flowers.

“It’s so fun, playing with great guards. Kelsey Mitchell is really the one that’s killing us right now. So I’m just kind of in awe, watching her. This was low-key my welcome to the W moment, just trying to guard her. But it’s so fun. We have respect for each other,” Miles said.

Kelsey Mitchell drops 37 points in tough lossMitchell stepped up to drop a 37-point display against the Minnesota Lynx. She shot 14-for-21 from the field, including 6-for-8 on 3-pointers, and 3-for-4 on free throws as she continues to outperform expectations this season.

>Clark was slightly off her game as she scored 19 points. She shot 8-for-18, going only 2-for-9 from the 3-point line. She ended up with 10 assists to get a double-double. Aliyah Boston contributed 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

>The Lynx turned out to be way too good for the Fever. Olivia Miles and Courtney Williams dominated as they combined for 55 points. Miles had 28 points with four rebounds and six assists, while Williams had 27 points with four rebounds and five assists. Napheesa Collier added 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Kayla McBride and Natasha Howard also contributed with 10 and 13 points, respectively.
