Orioles make trade, send 7-year veteran to Twins

Pitcher Dean Kremer is going from the Baltimore Orioles to the Minnesota Twins in a trade involving two American League Wild Card contenders.

>Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic was first to report the two sides had agreed to the deal July 31. The MLB trade deadline is three days away.

>Kremer, 30, has spent his entire 7-year MLB career with Baltimore. The Orioles originally acquired him from the Dodgers in the deal that sent Manny Machado to Los Angeles.

>The trade comes one day after the Twins acquired left-handed reliever A.J. Minter from the New York Mets.

>Baltimore, 54-56, is only a game behind the Twins. Kremer (1-4) has done little to help the Orioles’ cause on the heels of four seasons of steady if unspectacular work in the rotation.
