The whistle blew as the ball flew through the air, the basket thumped when it passed through the net and theCollege Park Center crowd erupted as it floated back down to the court, where Paige Bueckers was celebrating with an emphatic fist pump.
>The Dallas Wings star had just drained a 3-pointer despite being fouled with 30.6 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Sky on Saturday night in Arlington. She hit the subsequent free throw to complete a 4-point play that pulled her team within one point of the Sky.
>Soon after, Wings center Li Yueru — who set the screen that helped Bueckers get off the aforementioned 3 — knocked down the game-tying and go-ahead free throws.
>Jacy Sheldon's last-second shot was off the mark, and Azura Stevens couldn't put it back for the win. Instead, the Sky (4-11) lost their fifth game in a row and dropped to 1-10 in their last 11 after letting a 14-point fourth-quarter lead slip on the road.
>Bueckers hyped up Li in the aftermath of the 93-92 triumph, a come-from-behind victory that improved Dallas' record to 10-6. Already, the Wings have matched their win total from last season, which they finished 10-34.
The Sky went into the fourth with a 71-57 advantage. They couldn't maintain it. Saturday's setback is the latest in a spree of agonizing losses Chicago has suffered. Head coach Tyler Marsh's squad fell victim to a Sabrina Ionescu game-winner on Wednesday, dropping a nail-biter to the New York Liberty. Last week, the Sky lost in overtime to the Indiana Fever.
>This time around, Chicago got a season-high 26 points from center Kamilla Cardoso. She shot 10 of 13 from the field and pulled down nine rebounds to go along with her three assists and two blocks.
>But Dallas featured a frontcourt standout as well. Forward Jessica Shepard continued her All-Star campaign with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. All but four of her points came in the second half.
>Bueckers wasn’t far behind in the box score, stuffing the stat sheet with 19 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds.

>Altogether, Dallas notched 36 points in the fourth quarter. Bueckers’ four-point play dazzled, and Li’s two at the charity stripe effectively sealed the deal.
