Jun. 24—SIOUX FALLS — Palace City Post 18 Junior Legion baseball dropped a pair of road contests against Sioux Falls Post 15 East on Tuesday night. PCB lost the opening game 6-5 in extra innings before losing the second game 13-10 in five innings.

>In Game 1, Palace City and Sioux Falls matched each other's scoring in the fifth and six innings to tie it up at 5-all before Post 15's Aiden Johnson ripped an RBI single for the walk-off victory in the bottom of the ninth. Both teams tallied nine hits, as Sioux Falls committed three defensive errors and Post 18 had two errors for the game.

>Jett Kranz came in to relieve Owen Borgan on the bump in the fifth inning for Palace City, as Kranz was credited with the pitching loss after allowing two runs on four hits with five walks issued through 3 2/3 innings of work. Borgan started the game, pitching 4 2/3 innings with five hits, four runs and five walks allowed.

>Paxton Peper led Post 18 at the plate offensively, finishing 3-for-5 with one run scored, while Blake Rehorst added two hits, one RBI and one run scored. Nolan Widstrom and Jordon Ebert tallied one hit and one RBI apiece in the Game 1 loss.

>In the nightcap on Tuesday, Palace City's six defensive errors proved to be the difference in the game as PCB lost 13-10 in five innings. Despite scoring eight runs across the fourth and fifth innings and outhitting Sioux Falls 6-5, Post 18's pitching staff surrendered only five earned runs of Sioux Falls' 13 runs in the Game 2 loss.

>Oliver Raml earned the start on the mound for Palace City and the pitching loss after surrendering eight runs (three earned) on three hits in 1 2/3 innings of work. Treston Zens came in relief for the final 2 1/3 innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on two hits with three walks issued and one strikeout.

>Widstrom led the way with two hits, two RBIs and one run scored offensively for Palace City. Rehorst added one hit and three runs scored, while Gavin Mendenhall and Gage Schmidt tallied one hit and one RBI apiece.

>The Post 18 Juniors (16-12) are set to face off against Aberdeen on Wednesday, June 24, for a 5 p.m. doubleheader in Aberdeen.
