The quest for a state championship begins Monday for softball teams across the state. As always, there are plenty of Bucks County area teams in the tournament. Check out the first-round matchups, and everything you need to know about the tournament here.

How many teams make the PIAA softball playoffs?

There are 96 teams in the PIAA state playoffs, with 16 teams in each of the six classes. • >Seven Bucks County area teams qualified, which is the same number (those not the same teams) as last year. • >Those seven teams are spread among five classes, with three teams in Class 6A.When and where do the PIAA softball playoffs take place?The playoffs begin Monday, June 1 for all classes. The quarterfinals are Thursday, June 4; the semifinals are Monday, June 8. • >The 2026 PIAA Softball Championships conclude on Thursday, June 11 for Classes 1A, , 3A, and 5A, and Friday, June 12 for Classes 2A, 4A and 6A. • >The first three rounds are played at regional sites.
