Pundit explains why Dowman will not benefit from joining Luton on loan

class="isSelectedEnd">Max Dowman has been tipped to move out on loan in recent months as he is not getting regular game time at Arsenal, even though he continues to shine whenever he gets an opportunity. The young attacker has already shown that he can make an impact when given the chance to play.

That display helped underline the potential Dowman possesses and why there is so much interest in his development.

class="isSelectedEnd">Several of Arsenal’s main men from last term have struggled to get minutes since the start of this campaign, yet Dowman continues to perform well whenever he plays. His recent appearance for the club in the Carabao Cup once again reminded supporters of the huge potential he has.

class="isSelectedEnd">A loan move could therefore be considered by Arsenal as a way of allowing him to play more regularly. The attacker would get more opportunities with a new team, and Jack Wilshere has been pushing for him to join his Luton Town side.

Laurens Questions Whether a Loan Would Help

class="isSelectedEnd">However, pundit Julien Laurens does not believe a move like that would make sense for Dowman. He believes the youngster has already shown that he can perform at Arsenal and should therefore remain with the Gunners.

class="isSelectedEnd">Laurens argues that Dowman is already at a level where moving to a lower division would not necessarily provide the type of development he needs. Instead, remaining at Arsenal could give him opportunities to continue testing himself at the highest level.

class="isSelectedEnd">“He was the best player on the pitch by a mile, and I thought if you can play like that, you can shine for 15, 20 minutes in the Premier League, probably in the Champions League as well.

class="isSelectedEnd">“The issue I have got with a loan for Dowman is like, he is already so good that going to Luton is not going to bring him anything.

class="isSelectedEnd">“Yeah, he is going to play, he is going to play in a league that doesn’t really play football that suits him, although Jack (Wilshere) tries to play the right way, but it is difficult.”

Arsenal Face Decision Over Dowman’s Future

class="isSelectedEnd">The comments raise questions over whether Arsenal should prioritise regular playing time elsewhere or keep Dowman within the first team environment. His performances have already suggested that he can contribute when given opportunities.

>For now, the club must decide what would be most suitable for his development. A loan could provide more minutes, but Laurens believes Dowman has already demonstrated that he can make an impact at Arsenal and should remain where he can continue to develop alongside the first team.
