Report – Inter Keen to Make Liverpool Midfielder First Summer SigningSerie A champions Inter are reportedly eager to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones before the World Cup. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri want to make the Englishman their first summer signing.

>Curtis Jones seemed one step away from joining Inter in January. Indeed, the parties had agreed on personal terms before Liverpool decided to pull the plug at the 11th hour. Furthermore, the 25-year-old was enthusiastic about continuing his career at San Siro.

>However, short of reliable midfield options, Liverpool boss Arne Slot refused to let Jones leave Anfield midway through the season. Despite stopping the transfer, the Dutchman has shown little faith in the Reds academy graduate, often using him as a late substitute.

>Therefore, a summer move could be on the cards, with Inter looking to take advantage of Jones’ status on Merseyside to lure him to Serie A.

Our Take on Inter & Curtis JonesInter are expected to undergo a midfield overhaul in the summer. In addition to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Davide Frattesi should also be on his way out after failing to secure regular first-team football under Cristian Chivu. As such, the Nerazzurri have already decided to re-sign Aleksandar Stankovic from Club Brugge.

>However, Stankovic’s return won’t be enough to fill the gap in the engine room. Jones’ arrival would likely compensate for Mkhitaryan’s impending departure. And the best thing is that Inter could sign him on favorable terms because his contract at Liverpool expires next summer.

>Meanwhile, the player reportedly has little interest in joining Galatasaray, even though the reigning Turkish Super Lig holders would be able to offer him a higher salary than Inter. Moreover, the Italian heavyweights have already held exploratory talks with Liverpool, and contacts could resume as early as next week.
